The Economic Benefits of "Temporary" Jobs

During the course of the debate over the Keystone XL pipeline, opponents of the project have been dismissive of the jobs associated with the construction of KXL because those jobs are "temporary" - failing to understand that all construction jobs are temporary by definition. They also fail to understand the significant economic benefits that can accure to a local area as a result of such jobs.

The Dodge Momentum Index advanced 8.4% in April to 123.0 (2000=100), according to McGraw Hill Construction, a division of McGraw Hill Financial.
